Wenger Sure Oxlade-Chamberlain Keep Playing at Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, 67, insists Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (23) will not leave Emirates Stadium in the transfer market this summer.

Currently, Oxlade-Chamberlain contract is only one year left in Arsenal.

Previously, he was believed to have refused a contract extension and chose to find another option to get more playing minutes.

In fact, Oxlade-Chamberlain had expressed complaints because it rarely plays in his favorite position.

Hoping to operate as a central midfielder, he is more often a winger.

Inevitably, there is speculation linking it to other clubs. Liverpool were touted to be at the forefront of targeting the signature of this England national team player.

However, Wenger remains strong with his belief that Oxlade-Chamberlain will not leave the Gunners, Arsenal’s nickname.

“Yes, I am 100 percent sure he will survive. No matter whatever the speculation that happens, he will survive,” said Wenger as reported by Sky Sports.

Season 2016-2017, Oxlade-Chamberlain just seven times believed as a central midfielder. Meanwhile, he struck 17 times from the right side.

Oxlade-Chamberlain cost 12 million pounds when moving from Southampton to Arsenal in 2011. According to the Transfermarkt page, its current market price is 18 million pounds.
